We are updating our global data center firewall policy to implement an even more restrictive set of rules on our routers. We have developed this new set of rules as we have retired some older technologies and also reviewed some long standing policies. This change will include prohibiting forwarding multi-cast traffic within our local networks.
We have evaluated this more restrictive rules in our development and staging requirements extensively and will roll out this change in a scheduled maintenance interactively so we can respond to any unforeseen effects.
