We will upgrade all remaining staging/dev/test VMs that are using the environment fc-19.03-staging to our current platform version fc-20.09-staging. VMs will switch to the new version in the given time range or later in scheduled maintenance, depending on project configuration.
The upgrades should work automatically but we will monitor the progress and analyze errors if they arise. Some configurations may break due to additional security restrictions for SystemD services in NixOS 20.09 or changed package versions, for example.
As we are using NixOS, a large part of possible errors is already caught while building the system which prevents the switch to the new version until the configuration is fixed.
